President of the Austrian Academy of Sciences A. Zeilinger visits antimatter experiments at CERN

On 2nd of September the president of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW), Anton Zeilinger visited CERN’s Antiproton Decelerator. The Stefan Meyer Insitute for Subatomic Physics (SMI), member institute of the ÖAW, is involved in two experiments that are located in this unique laboratory for antimatter physics. SMI director Eberhard Widmann introduced the quantum physicist Zeilinger to the AEgIS and ASACUSA experiments. In these experiments antihydrogen atoms will be used to study fundamental symmetries that relate matter and antimatter. Finally Zeilinger provided an overview of current developements in quantum communication in a talk.
