[News] Graduate school “particles and interactions” approved
A graduate school application by experimental and theoretical groups of Vienna University, Vienna University of Technology, the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, and SMI on the subject of fundamental symmetries and interactions was approved in December by the Austrian Science Fund FWF. From SMI Johann Marton and Eberhard Widmann participate. The graduate school is aimed at providing excellent Ph. D. students a broad education in particle physics, ranging from experiments at highest energies and densities to precision experiments at low energies, as well as the respective theoretical aspects. SMI will contribute to both main topics via the precision spectroscopy of antihydrogen and the investigation of antimatter gravity, and in the field of Hadron Physics studies of the strong interaction using kaon and antiproton beams.
